A few plain-language questions can help clarify what a bike can actually do: pedals, throttle, speed, motor listing, unlockable modes, motorcycle-style traits, rider age, and where the ride may happen. Know Your Ride helps families, riders, and schools see the details more clearly so the next conversation can be calmer, fairer, and better informed. The result is educational guidance, not a legal determination.

What the Bike Check Does

It helps everyone start from the same facts.

The Bike Check helps you understand the ride before anyone assumes, argues, or decides. Some bikes look simple until the details tell a different story. A throttle, speed setting, unlockable mode, missing pedals, or crowded school route can change what a ride means for a family, rider, or school. The Bike Check does not label a rider or make a legal call. It helps people pause, look at the facts, understand the risk, and choose the next step with care.

Pedals, throttles, high-speed settings, and unlockable modes can change how a bike behaves in real life. Those details matter before a rider enters a sidewalk, school arrival area, or crowded shared space.

A school sidewalk, trail, crosswalk, bike lane, or neighborhood road is not just a route. It is a shared space, and the right expectations can protect everyone using it.
