World Youth Skills Day 2026
Safe Riding Is a Life Skill

On World Youth Skills Day 2026, Know Your Ride used the global observance as a moment to highlight youth e-bike safety and connect the 2026 theme, “Skills for a Shared Future,” with practical rider education.
How Know Your Ride engaged
- Used the global observance as a moment to highlight youth e-bike safety
- Connected the 2026 theme to practical rider education
- Shared a youth-centered safety perspective
- Amplified the importance of skill-building for young riders
Know Your Ride sees a natural connection between youth development and rider safety. As more students begin riding bikes and e-bikes independently, the ability to understand what they are riding, check basic safety features, wear a helmet correctly, ride predictably, and handle battery safety becomes part of real-world skill-building.
World Youth Skills Day provided a meaningful opportunity to frame these habits not simply as safety reminders, but as life skills. When young riders gain these habits early, families and communities can help prevent confusion from turning into risk.
Safe riding is not something young people should have to learn through a close call. It is a skill — and skills can be taught before risk becomes experience.
